Glenn Wharton Honored with Conservation Award


Glenn Wharton, professor of Art History and chair of the UCLA/Getty Program in the Conservation of Cultural Heritage, which is part of the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology, has received the 2022 Sheldon and Caroline Keck Award for outstanding and distinguished contributions to the field of conservation from the American Institute for Conservation. The award recognizes a sustained record of excellence in the education and training of conservation professionals. The award was presented in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 14, 2022, during the 50th Annual Meeting of the American Institute for Conservation.

The American Institute for Conservation is the leading membership association for current and aspiring conservators and allied professionals who preserve cultural heritage. Their mission is to support conservation professionals in preserving cultural heritage by establishing and upholding professional standards, promoting research and publications, providing educational opportunities, and fostering the exchange of knowledge among conservators, allied professionals, and the public.
