Culture Fix: Sonali Gupta-agarwal on Enduring Splendor
This gallery talk with Sonali Gupta-Agarwal, Director of Public Programs at the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology, and Lecturer in the UCLA Anthropology department, traces how ornaments are a living part of rural and urban societies in India, where ideas of wealth, tradition, identity, religion and belonging in a society rooted with caste and class divisions are better understood visually in a beautiful but charged language of personal adornment.
