  • EDITORIAL FOCUS

    Currently active research foci are:
  • California and the western United States
  • Prehistoric Europe and the Mediterranean
  • Mesoamerica
  • Andean South America

  • Volumes are organized into series that reflect the nature of their contents: Monumenta Archaeologica contain final reports of significant field research, presented in hardcover format. Monographs focus on contributions in field research and analysis. Perspectives in California Archaeology present contributions similar to those appropriate for the Monograph series but specific to prehistoric and historic archaeology of the state. Archaeological Research Tools present useful guides on such topics as illustration, photography, field conservation, and logistics, as well as artifact categories. The Cotsen Advanced Seminars series collect the papers presented at the annual Cotsen Advanced Seminar, which emphasizes multidisciplinary and multi-geographical approaches to topics in archaeological theory and method. Ideas, Debates, and Perspectives offers a forum for addressing theoretical and practical issues of concern to contemporary archaeology.
