Research Interests
Dr. Christian Fischer is Research Associate at the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology at UCLA and Consultant for the LACMA museum. He is co-director of the Laboratory of Materials Research in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage (LMR) at UCLA and the project Byzantium in Cyprus. His expertise is in geoarchaeology and conservation of building materials with focus on non-invasive methods of in situ investigations of archaeological materials, soils, rocks and minerals.
