B.A. Cum Laude, Anthropology)
Subfield: Bioarchaeology, Phaoronic Egypt, Gender Construction, Embodiment, Identity Construction, Disability Studies
Research Interest: From 2012-present, I am the bioarchaeologist at Deir el-Medina. I am the first to offer a comprehensive study on the human remains at this important site since their excavation in the early 20th century. I am combining data from Deir el-Medina with textual data from the site to explore the state's health care system in place for the workmen.
From 2008-2010, I lead the Karanis Cemetery Survey Project. This mission is focused around properly documenting the surface skeletal material and architecture for the cemetery of Karanis, a Greco-Roman town in Egypt's Fayum region. During this time, I also researched 3D scanning for archaeological architecture and I conducted MA research on the skeletal remains at Giza currently stored in the Peabody Museum at Harvard and Hearst Museum at Berkeley.
