The Cotsen Institute of Archaeology at UCLA will open its doors for the 13th annual Open House. This tradition gives the general public, school children, students and interested individuals an opportunity to see what happens after the surveys and excavations from various part of the world are over, how the analysis is performed and how the data is stored for lectures and publications.

LECTURE at 2:30 pm Lenart Auditorium
Professor Kara Cooney, Near Eastern Languages and Cultures: “Spending for Death: Egyptian Funerary Arts during Economic Recession”
Tours to the Fowler Museum will be given at 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm (meet on first floor of the museum)
The Experiential Technologies Center will present interactive virtual reality models of Karnak, the Roman Forum, and various Google Earth models located in Italy, Greece and Egypt in A139 Fowler.

Parking is available in Lot #4 (Sunset and Westwood Blvd). Enter UCLA from Sunset Blvd. at Westwood. Drive ahead to the Parking
Information Booth in Lot 4. Convenient Fowler parking is at the
northeast or southeast ends of Lot 4 (see map), where automated pay
stations accept $1 and $5 bills and credit cards. The parking fee is a
maximum of $9. The Fowler is visible to your left when you ascend from
the elevator or stairs (follow pedestrian walkways, indicated by
arrows).
